The Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager is proud to
announce that the Sheriffs Office HEAT grant was renewed by GOHS for the
second year. The grant amount was $172,000 for 2007 and the previous
year grant amount was $228,700. The grant main purpose is reducing
Motor Vehicle crashes involving speeding, seatbelt usage and Dui. The
grant will maintain officers equipment and salaries for one year.
The Sheriffs office will also be announcing monthly,
quarterly and final results met by the grant.
The first year of the grant motor vehicle crashes
were reduced by 39% and fatalities were reduced by 13% in Coweta County.
